These terms govern quotations issued by, and orders placed with, Gardenbase Furniture Industries Sdn. Bhd. (Reg. No. 201101042683 / 967212-K) of No. 23, Jalan TSB 8, Taman Industri Sungai Buloh, 47000 Sungai Buloh, Selangor, Malaysia ("GardenBase"). By paying a deposit you accept them. They are written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask before you sign.
1. Quotations
Written quotations are free, itemised and valid for 30 days. A quotation covers exactly what its line items describe; work not listed is not included. Prices are in Ringgit Malaysia and, where applicable, state any taxes separately. Verbal estimates given before measurement are indications, not offers.
2. Drawings and approval
Fabrication begins only after you approve scaled drawings and material selections in writing (email or signature). The approved drawings — not photographs, showroom pieces or earlier conversations — define what we build. Changes requested after approval are quoted separately and may extend the schedule.
3. Payment
Residential orders: 50% deposit on drawing approval, 40% before delivery, 10% on completed installation. Commercial orders follow the progress schedule stated in the quotation. Title in the goods passes on full payment; risk passes on delivery. Late final balances accrue interest at 1.5% per month after 14 days.
4. Timelines
Quoted lead times start from drawing approval and deposit, whichever is later. We hit our dates as a point of pride, but timber is a natural material and buildings hold surprises; where a delay arises we tell you immediately with a revised date. Delays caused by site access, unfinished works by other contractors, or client-requested changes extend the schedule accordingly.
5. Site conditions
You are responsible for accurate information about the site (management rules, lift dimensions, parking, power availability) and for the space being ready for installation. Where our team arrives and cannot work for reasons within your control, a re-mobilisation fee of RM 350 applies.
6. Natural materials
Timber varies. Grain, knots and colour will differ from samples and between boards — that is the material's nature, not a defect. Solid timber also moves slightly with humidity; our joinery allows for it. We will always match as closely as the material honestly permits.
7. Warranty
Furniture we build carries a 5-year structural warranty (joinery, frames, carcass integrity) and a 1-year warranty on hardware, from the date of handover. The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials under normal use. It does not cover misuse, unauthorised modification, water damage from building faults, or the natural weathering of outdoor timber described in our care guides. Warranty service is by the workshop itself — call and we come.
8. Cancellation
Before drawing approval you may cancel and any deposit is refunded less costs actually incurred (measurement visits are free regardless). After fabrication begins, materials have been cut for your specific space; our Return & Refund Policy sets out what can and cannot be refunded from that point.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that Malaysian law does not permit us to exclude. Beyond that, our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, though in fifteen years we have found that a phone call to the workshop resolves nearly everything faster.
